Special Management Unit II (SMU II) was renamed to Browning Unit on June 2, 2008 after Sgt. Staff of the Army. Charles R. Browning, who died in Afghanistan and worked at SMU II.
ASPC-Eyman has a prisoner capacity of around 4.544 in 8 home units at security levels 3, 4 and 5. ADC uses a score classification system to assess appropriate detainees and security level placements. Scores range from 2 to 5, with 5 being the highest risk or necessity. ASPC-Eyman is a modern, medium to high prison.
The Browning Unit (formerly SMU II) at Eyman contains a row of Arizona men's deaths.
