Christopher Hurn is an American business writer, entrepreneur, and business executive who works primarily in small business loans. He is the founder and CEO of Fountainhead Commercial Capital, a company that provides commercial real estate financing and capital growth for small business owners. He previously founded Mercantile Capital Corporation, a capitalist of real estate companies inhabited by owners and company Inc. 500. He served as CEO of the company before leaving in late 2014 to launch Fountainhead.
Hurn is the author of The Secret of Entrepreneurs to Create Wealth: How the Smartest Business Owners Build Their Wealth , a book detailing the financing for small business owners. He is also often a media commentator, appearing on Fox Business to discuss issues related to small business, and regular contributor to The Huffington Post. As an entrepreneur and small business owner, he founded Kennedy's All-American Barbers Club which operates stores nationwide in the United States.

Hurn graduated from Loyola University Chicago where he obtained two bachelor's degrees, magna cum laude . He went on to attend the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania, earning his M.B.A degree before a brief stint at Georgetown University Law Center. He left Georgetown early to pursue a career in finance.

Hurn started his career on loan with GE Capital before moving to Heller Financial. His loan experience made him an entrepreneur when he founded Mercantile Capital Corporation in 2002. The company specializes in small business loans backed by commercial real estate. The company was first lent to business in Florida, but expanded out of the country shortly thereafter. He uses the SBA 504 Loan program to help small businesses obtain financing and is listed in the Inc. list. 500 at # 245 in 2007, on the Inc. list. 5000 at # 1683 in 2008, and on the 5000 Inc. list. at # 3,776 in 2009. Mercantile was sold to Old Florida National Bank in 2010, with Old Florida National Bank later acquired by IBERIABANK. Hurn remains CEO of the company until he leaves the company at the end of 2014.
Hurn writes The Secret of Entrepreneurs to Create Wealth: How the Smart Business Owners Build Their Wealth , the financial advice book he released in October 2012. This book details strategies for wealth creation of small businesses. Editor Inc., Bo Burlington stated that this book is "an invaluable guide to an important but often overlooked aspect, building a business" while Secret Secret of Millionaire Mind writer T. Harv Eker states that it is "Direct Strategy [y] for your own financial freedom. " Hurn is also a regular contributor to The Huffington Post.
Hurn founded Fountainhead Commercial Capital in February 2015. The company specializes in SBA 504 loans and was initially launched in 12 states. Fountainhead provides the first 504 mortgages as third party creditors and a temporary second mortgage for acquisitions, construction demolitions, and renovations. This is a non-bank commercial national lender that provides commercial loan programs other than SBA loans.
Hurn is also a small business owner and is listed as head of a number of companies, including ATCC Management Group, Kennedy International Franchise, and SpreheFamily Investments. Kennedy's is a chain of barbershops with locations in Florida, Connecticut and New Jersey, with Hurn operating one of the franchises in Lake Mary, Florida.
Hurn has made many media appearances and commented to media outlets that include several appearances on Fox Business, PBS NewsHour, The Washington Post, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, and CNNMoney. He also testified before the United States Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship in March 2012. and his work in finance has led to him receiving many awards and recognition, some of which include Twenty The Most Influential People in Small Business Loans , SBA Marketing Teachers of the Year , 25 Great Small Business Experts Twitter to Follow , and 100 Champion The Influence of Small Business .
