The State Penitentiary - Albion is a Medium-Security correctional facility for men, located in the extreme northwest corner of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in Erie County. SCI-Albion also holds Close-Security prisoners as well.

Histori

SCI Albion is a prototype of four other similar penitentiary facilities built in the 1990s. Funding for construction is unique when the Public Service Department joins Erie County to build this facility. The district has prison authorities to attach bond issues and authorize payments. The Commonwealth pays the debt through monthly payments to the region.
