MasterCraft is a high performance luxury luxury vessel manufacturer founded in the United States in 1968 and currently headquartered in Vonore, Tennessee. The MasterCraft boat is the most popular and recognized brand for water skiing, wakeboarding and wakesurfing, although the company has also produced several ships that are not focused on water sports.

History
MasterCraft was established when the owners decided to start making their own boats. The owners take the Nautique Ski produced by Correct Craft, hang it from the tree, and cut the back of the stomach to turn it into their preference. The company's first ski boat was built in 1968 in a two-horse barn on a farm in Maryville, Tennessee.
During its first year of operation, MasterCraft built only 12 boats using a modified hull design. MasterCraft is finally recognized as a force in the ski boat industry tournament. The operating facility was moved to Vonore, Tennessee and now employs 591 "MasterCraftsmen." In 2006, MasterCraft produces more than 3,000 boats per year, sold in 25 different countries by over 100 domestic and international dealers, making it the largest producer of the world's deepest skiing, wakeboard and powerboats.
Some of the most popular boats today are the Prostar series of direct-moving ski boats, and the X-Series Wakeboard boat, many of which share the hull with the Prostar series, but are equipped with special wakeboard features such as ballast tanks and wakeboard towers. All MasterCraft Models use the Ilmor inboard marine engine built on General Motors 5.7, 6.0, 6.2, and 7.4-liter V8 engine blocks.
In 2007, the company was acquired by two private equity firms: Charles Capital Capital Partners and Transportation Resource Partners (affiliated with Roger Penske). In 2010, the company was recapitalized by Wayzata Investment Partners.
In 2010, MasterCraft announced that they are partnering exclusively with one of the best high-performance engineering firms in the world, Ilmor Marine engines, for their power train needs.
In 2011, MasterCraft and Ilmor Marine launched all of the new Ilmor 7.4L engines, natural aspirated engines that are stronger, more efficient and more reliable than other offerings in the deep market, including supercharged engines.
In May 2015, MasterCraft filed an IPO to collect $ 100 million.
On July 17, 2015, Nasdaq announced that trading of MCBC Holdings Inc., operator of the MasterCraft Boat Company, began in Nasdaq Stock Market trading as (Nasdaq: MCFT).
